Packaging is part of the product specification
A desiccated coconut shipment can meet every quality parameter at the factory and still arrive out of specification if packaging fails to control moisture during a multi-week transit. Outer material, inner liner, and net weight should be agreed alongside the product grade, not treated as an afterthought.

PP woven bag vs paper sack
Both formats are used across the industry, generally with a food-grade inner liner (commonly PE) providing the actual moisture barrier — the outer material mainly affects strength, stacking, and market perception.

Specify more than the outer material
The outer bag choice is only one line of a complete packaging specification. A buyer evaluating suppliers should request the same level of detail regardless of which outer material is used.
- Inner liner material and thickness.
- Net weight and tolerance per bag.
- Palletization: bags per pallet, pallet type, and wrap.
- Labeling: language, lot code placement, and any destination-market requirements.
- Container loading method and any desiccant or moisture-control measures used.
Ask which option fits your buyer's requirement
Some buyers have a fixed packaging requirement (for retail rebranding, a specific outer material, or a sustainability commitment), while others leave it to the supplier's standard export packaging.
