Premium Dried Coconut Copra

Copra is the dried kernel of the coconut, cut into sections and sun dried until the moisture is down to five percent or below. At that point it is stable enough to travel and to sit in an oil mill yard without spoiling, which is the entire purpose of drying it.

It is valued for two things. The oil pressed out of it, at roughly 65 percent of the kernel weight, is the feedstock for crude and then RBD coconut oil. What is left after pressing is copra cake, which goes almost entirely into livestock feed.

Our copra comes out of Makassar and ships in 50 kg mesh bags, loose or vacuum packed, with a twelve month shelf life under proper storage. Buyers are oil mills and crushing plants rather than food manufacturers, so we quote against moisture and oil content rather than sensory grade.
